Finding the right space can be one of the biggest challenges when planning an exclusive brunch during one of the most popular weeks of the year in New York City. I hosted a brunch meet up during NYFW to celebrate the launch of “The Pink List” on the PinkGirlsRunTheWorld.com blog. Pink Girls Run The World was created as a travel platform that empowers and celebrates women of all ages (click here to read all about how my infatuation with pink started). Country-by- country and city-by-city, we are not only changing the narrative around how women travel, but how women network and empower other women. As a part of my commitment to creating an unapologetically pink community that encourages people to fill their lives with experiences that enrich their lives, “The Pink List” highlights extraordinary places around the world that have embraced the controversial hue. Housed on the PinkGirlsRunTheWorld.com blog, this “pinktastic” list includes pink hotels, pink restaurants, pink beaches, pink lakes and so much more.
A tiny NYC restaurant that has strategically placed shades of pink in all the right places; I LOVE the vibe that While We Were Young sends out from the time you step through the door…it’s not the size of the space, but what you do with the space that tells the story. Because this is EXACTLY how I live my life, the space immediately captured my attention! The fresh pink & white flowers on the tables and along the bar offered a nice touch to a fun space.
Nestled in the city’s West Village, While We Were Young served our “pinktastic” squad a contemporary American meal that was almost too pretty to chow down on. Owner Bradford Dunigan and his team were hands on in making sure that our “pinkalicious” celebration was one to remember. The color of the sand on Indonesia’s Komodo Island, the eatery’s pink velvet couch against the marble table tops (the perfect contrast of soft & hard) set the tone for the afternoon’s festivities. Full of hope, we laughed together, chatted about the week’s events, future collaborations and connected on everything in between. We made new friends, while catching up with some of our favorite boss babes.
If you haven't had an opportunity to sit on the plush, blushing pink banquette at “While We Were Young” you need to put the restaurant on your “to-do” list for your next trip to NYC and don’t forget to tell them that “The Pink List” sent you.
